In term 3 the year five students from all three Great Barrier Island schools got together for a four-day ICT Intensive. The focus was on learning about and creating electronic music (electronica). First we listened to electronica and deconstructed it, looking at the different sub- genres and what they involved (sounds, tempo, mood etc). Using this knowledge we then created our own electronic music, trying to recreate different moods and sub-genres. We used free software Hammerhead Rhythmn Station and Audacity.
